Precare Instructions
Please read the following and follow as closely as possible.
Overview
7-10 DAYS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
-
Inform your esthetician if you have taken Accutane (oral acne medication) in the past year.
-
Cease application of all topical retinoids, or Vitamin A derivative products.
-
Cease use of all Glycolic or chemical exfoliants.
-
Cease use of all mechanical exfoliants, such as scrubs.
-
Avoid facial waxing.
-
Avoid sun exposure without a sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater.
-
Avoid tanning beds.
-
You must NOT have recently had laser surgery or used Accutane.
-
Candidates who have had a recent chemical peel or other skin procedure, such as collagen injections, should wait two to three weeks before undergoing microdermabrasion.
-
Prospective patients should also refrain from waxing or tanning the skin to be treated for a few weeks prior to microdermabrasion treatment.
-
Wash your face and neck with a non-oily, non-soap based cleanser before each scheduled treatment. Your face will be cleansed during your treatment with products suited for your skin type.
-
Discontinue use of any topical retinoids for at least 3-5 days prior to your treatment. This may include: tretinoin, Retin-A®, Renova®, Differin®, Tazorac®, Avage®, EpiDuo™, Ziana®).
-
If you are prone to cold sores (HSV1 or HSV2), take antiviral medication for 1 week prior to the day of treatment.
-
Some medications or supplements may increase sensitivity. Consult your physician.
-
Please avoid any laser or electrolysis treatments (of any kind) at least 7 days prior to your treatment; unless otherwise recommended by your aesthetician.
-

Postcare Instructions
After your Chemical Peel treatment, please follow these post-care instructions:
-
Your skin may be temperature sensitive for a few days after treatment.
-
Expect your skin to appear pink for a few hours after treatment.
-
Make-up may be applied to cover redness as needed.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure for 1-2 days after your treatment.
-
Avoid direct sunlight on the treated area and use a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater for 1-2 weeks after your treatment.
-
Cleanse and moisturize your skin twice daily along with any recommended home care products.
-
It is recommended that other topical, over-the-counter medications or alpha hydroxy acids not be applied to the skin 1-2 days post procedure, as they may cause irritation.
-
Keep your skin well hydrated with a protective moisturizer.
-
Avoid using abrasive products such as scrubs or exfoliating sponges for 7 -10 days.
-
Avoid products such as retinols and glycolic acid 10 days.
-
Vitamin C Serums may be resumed after 48 hours.
-
Discontinue use of any topical retinoids for at least 3 days after to your treatment or longer based on your sensitivity. This may include: tretinoin, Retin-A®, Renova®, Differin®, Tazorac®, Avage®, EpiDuo™, Ziana®).
-
Do not have electrolysis, facial waxing and/or depilatories for approximately 1-2 weeks.
What to expect
-
Slight peeling for 3-5 days.
-
Mild Itching, irritation, redness, increased sensitivity.
-
Hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin color) can occur in some skin types. Please call us if you experience this uncommon reaction.

Precare Instructions
Please read the following and follow as closely as possible.
Overview

Plan to go directly home and minimize any errands following the treatment as you will need to avoid sun exposure (and you will not be able to apply sunscreen/makeup the day of the treatment).
-
Avoid unprotected sun exposure or sunburn for at least 24 hours prior to your treatment. A microchanneling treatment will not be administered on sunburned skin.
-
No waxing, bleaching creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior.
-
If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment.
-
Avoid blood-thinning agents* (Aspirin, Fish Oils, Vitamin E, Blood Thinning Medications, etc.) for one week prior because bruising is a common side effect.
*Important Note: Always consult your doctor prior to starting or stopping any supplements or medications. -
Do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising).

Discontinue use of Retinol 2 days prior to treatment.
-
If you are planning to receive Botox or Filler, make sure that you give yourself at least 2 weeks post-injections before receiving your microchanneling procedure.
Postcare Instructions
After your MicroChanneling or Nanoneedling treatment, please follow these post-care instructions:
Day of:
-
Keep skin clean. For the first 90 minutes, don’t touch the face and avoid sun exposure.
-
If your skin feels dry, tight or itchy, wash your hands and pat on some water.
-
There is no need to wash your face tonight. If you choose to wash your face tonight, use a gentle, basic cleanser with no active ingredients.
-
Avoid exposure to pet dander and other irritants as best you can. You may experience a mild allergic reaction to pets and other things you typically do not react to within the first 24 hours.
-
Avoid sweating for the first 24 hours (No gym, sauna, swimming, spicy food, exercise, etc.)
Week 1 (Days 1-7):
-
You may clean your face as usual with a gentle, basic cleanser and gentle moisturizer.
-
Do not use any active ingredient products (i.e. retinols, hydroquinone, etc.) for the first 5 days post-procedure.
-
Avoid makeup for at least 12 hours after the procedure. Sanitize makeup brushes before using them.
-
Make sure to wear SPF daily.
Days 7+:
A week after microchanneling/nanoneedling procedure, most patients notice that their skin is smoother and more radiant. Continue to use UHM, PCG and SPF daily.
Results vary, a series of 4-6 treatments is typically recommended to achieve optimal results depending on individual condition and response.
We can’t wait to help improve your skin concerns! Your follow up treatments are recommended a month after each treatment.
**FOR MICROCHANNELING** For your first treatment Shawnlin will use .25mm. After each session Shawnlin will increase the length from .25mm to .5mm then to .75mm. You can expect redness and swelling, tightness, and a warm sensation after your first treatment for 5-24 hours. As Shawnlin increases the length of the needles, redness and swelling will be present for 24-72 hours. You may cover with mineral makeup.

Overview

Please let your skincare specialist know if you are on any medication (topical and/ or oral, have any medical conditions, or are being treated by a physician for any conditions.

Let your skincare specialist know if you have been diagnosed with cold sores or Herpes simplex.

No shaving, laser treatment, peels, waxing, or aggressive exfoliations one week prior to Dermaplaning treatments.
-
You should wait 7-14 days after receiving botox or dermal fillers to receive Dermaplaning treatments.
-
No shaving, peels, waxing,depilatory creams, retinol, tretinoin, prescribed topicals or aggressive exfoliators one week prior.

No sunburns.
The Procedure
There is no pain or discomfort during the Dermaplaning procedure. It is best to relax and allow Shawnlin to move and manipulate your head and face. Try to remain still. There is no gum chewing allowed during the treatment and talking will be restricted by your skincare specialist at certain key times during the treatment.
Postcare Instructions
After your Dermaplaning treatment, please follow these post-care instructions:

Please follow these instructions for after the treatment to improve and prolong the results of your service.

No recovery time, following treatment, you may immediately return to your normal activities.
-
Use a gentle cleanser and apply moisturizer at least twice daily for a minimum of 7 days post treatment
-
Avoid excessive heat, sun beds, steam rooms/ saunas, sun exposure for a minimum of 3 days post treatment. If you must be in the sun, apply spf 30 or greater, reapply often, wear a hat, and seek shade when possible.

Avoid facial waxing for 7 days.
-
No scrubs, peels, or aggressive brushes for 7 days.
-
Do apply serums as absorption levels will be elevated.
-
Be sparing with self-tan, remember absorption levels are elevated.
-
You may experience a slight windburn sensation post treatment and skincare products may tingle slightly, this is normal for the first few days.
-
Discontinue use of hydroxy acids(AHA &BHA) and retinoids following your treatment for 3-5 days.
-
Avoid chlorine for 1 week.
-
Avoid vigorous activity and hot heat.
For best results, Dermaplaning treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks.

It is recommended to pre-treat your skin for four weeks with a tyrosinase inhibitor prior to your treatment.

Stop the use of acne ingredients 3-5 days before a treatment (including: retinol, salicylic acid, glycolic or lactic acids, hydroquinone)
Postcare Instructions
After your OxyGeneo treatment, please follow these post-care instructions:

Use the appropriate post care products for 5 days after an OxyGeneo exfoliating treatment.
-
Stop the use of active ingredients for 10 days (including: retinol, salicylic acid, glycolic or lactic). Dont use harsh or physical exfoliants.
-
Stay away from sun exposure 2 weeks after a treatment.
-
Vitamin C and Hydroquinone can be applied 3-5 days after a treatment.
-
Always apply SPF and re-apply every 2 hours!
Precare Instructions
Please read the following and follow as closely as possible.
Overview

Avoid excess sun exposure, including tanning beds for 1 week before treatment, and use SPF 30 or greater daily to ensure coverage against UVB and UBA rays.

Do not use any type of exfoliants 2 days before treatment.

Refrain from any chemical peels or lasers for 2 weeks prior.
-
Discontinue use of Tretinoin type products (Renova, Tretinoin, Retin A, Retin A Micro, Tri-Luma, Solage, etc.) at least 2 days before treatment.

Discontinue use of Hydroquinone 2-3 days before treatment.
-
If you have a history of cold sores, consider beginning prophylactic treatment with Valtrex or similar no later than the day of treatment.

Notify the center if you develop a cold sore, acne, open lesions in the area being treated, or experience any type of illness before your treatment.

Wait 2 weeks after Botox and filler treatments to have a HydraFacial treatment.
-
Botox and filler may be done on the same day, but only after HydroFacial treatment.
Postcare Instructions
Please follow these instructions for after the treatment to improve and prolong the results of your service.

Avoid any exfoliation to the area for 48 hours post-treatment.
-
To keep the area clean, avoid heat sources, including hot showers, saunas, and cardio workouts that may produce sweat for 24 hours.

You may wash your face the following morning using the products recommended by your It’s A Secret Service Professional.

Please discuss continuing use of your regular regimen post-treatment.

Do not use topical Retin-A for 2 days following treatment.
-
Avoid unprotected sun exposure and/or use of tanning beds for at least 3 days post-treatment.

Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily for 3-5 days post-treatment.

Makeup may be applied the day after treatment.

Please ensure you use the pre/post care products provided at your consultation appointment.
You will recieve a kit that includes one Bioherb50, a container of 20 Cica sheet masks, and one Aqua Cream moisturizer (value $112). You may purchase a cleanser, toner, serums, and spf at your consultation. For fitzpatricks 4-6 (melaninated skin), you will need to use a tyrosinase inhibitor in order to recieve the Green Sea Spicule Peel. You will be provided with 2 peel pads of Dermathod Priming Peel Booster to be used for once a week, two weeks prior to your treatment! You may also purchase a tyrosinase inhibitor serum or ampoule to be used prior to treatment. For ALL chemical peels and spicule treatments a tyrosinase inhibitor is extremely important and are required for Fitzpatricks 4-6 to prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and ensures a safe peel/spicule application.

Jet will NOT dissolve filler or Botox. We’ve actually found since new collagen networks are being created, Botox and Filler tends to last longer after Jet.

Jet Plasma should not be done until 3-4 months after PDO threads to allow time for internal healing and threads to settle.
For optimal outcomes, it is recommended to undergo a series of treatments at least once per week but is safe enough to do 72 hours apart.
Postcare Instructions
Following your Jet Plasma treatment, your skin’s channels are open and porous, making it essential to avoid introducing anything to the skin other than what was applied during your session. Proper aftercare ensures optimal healing and results.
