Collagen Induction Therapy
MicroNeedling & MicroChanneling
Two Distinct Technologies. One Goal: Your Best Skin.
MicroNeedling vs. MicroChanneling: What's the Difference?
While microneedling and microchanneling are both forms of collagen induction therapy, they are fundamentally different treatments designed for different levels of skin concern. Understanding the distinction helps you and your esthetician choose the right approach for your goals.
MicroChanneling is optimized for surface-level concerns that haven't yet reached the deeper layers of the skin. It uses a stamping motion to create clean, vertical microchannels at shallower depths (0.25mm – 0.75mm). Because the channels are uniform and the tissue trauma is minimal, microchanneling is especially powerful for addressing early signs of aging, fine lines, mild texture issues, and surface pigmentation before they become entrenched. It's a precision-first approach : more controlled, less downtime, and highly effective for concerns that are still in the upper layers of the skin.
MicroNeedling, on the other hand, is built for deeper concerns. With adjustable depths from 0.25mm up to 2.5mm (though we typically work within 0.25mm – 1.5mm), microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that reach further into the dermis. This triggers a more intense wound-healing cascade, making it the preferred choice for established acne scars, deeper wrinkles, stretch marks, loss of elasticity, and concerns that require structural remodeling at a deeper level.

Which One Is Right for You?
Your esthetician will guide you toward the right treatment during your consultation, but here's a general framework to help you understand the approach.
Choose MicroChanneling if…
Your concerns are primarily at the surface level; you're noticing early fine lines, rough or dull texture, mild discoloration, or enlarged pores. MicroChanneling is also ideal if you prefer a treatment with minimal downtime and want to address concerns before they deepen.
Choose MicroNeedling if…
You're dealing with deeper, more established concerns: acne scarring, moderate wrinkles, significant texture damage, stretch marks, or loss of skin firmness. MicroNeedling reaches into the dermis where structural remodeling happens, making it the stronger choice for concerns that need deeper intervention.
